Apprenticenship Teaching

Apprenticenship Teaching is a UFTeach capstone course that provides students with hands-on experience in a secondary STEM classroom. Apprentice Teachers work alongside a mentor teacher, teach multiple class periods, develop and implement lesson plans, assist with classroom activities, and participate in lesson planning and assessment. The course also emphasizes classroom management, instructional technology, student feedback, professional responsibilities, and reflective teaching practice. Through the field experience and weekly seminar, students apply educational theory and instructional strategies while developing the skills necessary for effective secondary STEM teaching.
